oakington 2005
Notes from The Organising Team.
First of all, a big thank you to everybody for entering this year’s Centenary Oakington Stages – the first competitive event of our Centenary Year. We hope that you enjoyed the event and offer our congratulations to all the award winners – it obviously helps if your co-driver is called Mark! Our commiserations to those that didn't finish - we hope you will try again. Also, of course, a big THANK YOU to all the officials, marshals, radio crews and safety personnel for their help and assistance on the event – without them it would not be possible. As mentioned in the Regulations, this year the Club are again supporting the Linda Jackson Macmillan Centre at Mount Vernon Hospital and through your generosity, with the contribution of £10 per car, an additional £10 from late entries, additional donations from some crews and ‘cash match’ from Cadbury Trebor Bassett, the event raised over £700 for this worthwhile cause. Thank you all. Following the change of date for the Cambridge CC event and the SCCON event moving to another venue, the next round of this year’s Oakington Challenge, which includes all rallies held at Oakington Airfield, is our own Centenary Bomb-Along Stages, on Sunday 11th September 2005. Regulations should be available mid-late July and will be sent to all competitors on this event and to all registered Challenge Contenders.
