Club Nights! In the last year or so there has been a significant drop in the numbers attending our Wednesday Club Nights. As a result, in recent months, it has not been financially viable to open the bar and we need to review our plans going into 2010. We have put together a short questionnaire regarding club nights and we would be grateful if you would kindly return it to us with your comments. This Questionnaire can be emailed back to Tony Phillips or, if you wish, sent by post.
Fireworks Night - Partner's Evening 4th November: Our annual celebration of all things pyrotechnic was staged at GXSC with the fireworks being followed by some of John’s delectable food. Thanks go to Kevin Fowler and Darren Pike who organised the evening's festivities (with a little help from Tony Phillips!).
Autotest Practice - Partner's Evening 30th September: Postponed due to Trigger’s Buffet and Music Quiz, this was a chance to show off your skills around the pylons in a Mini! Report soon.
Trigger's Buffet & (Short) Music Quiz - Partner's Evening 2nd September. Mike Wooster arranged a charity quiz in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital whilst John provided the food.
Classics on the Green - Partner's Evening 5th August. The Club once again had a stand at this event with a number of member's cars on display. Thanks go to Peter Nathan for organising the club's stand. More info at Watford & District Classic Vehicles Club
Photo GenIC Fun Run & BBQ 26th July 2009: Victory went to Andy Greenland who navigated himself round the course. Second place went to Tony and Val Phillips and their friends with third being occupied by Malc, Rose and Jo Farmer. Sarah and Christine Wooster took care of the cooking duties at the end of event bbq and our thanks go to Pete Farmer who organised the event and Ray Bell who assisted on the day. Full results now available.
Karting 24th July: Mike Cawthra organised a karting event at the Colnbrook indoor circuit.
3rd June 'Partner's Evening - Midweek Meander' Rescheduled to 1st July as Mike Cawthra was away on buisness.
6th May May 'Partner's Evening - Boule Competition'. Despite move to British Summer Time, the light outside was not considered good enough for the event. We will look at rescheduling to another day.
22nd April 2009 Annual General Meeting: The Club's AGM was held at Gerrards Cross Sports Club on Wednesday. Kevin Fowler has rejoined the Council having been elected to the position of Competition Secretary and Langley Response's Paul Duckmanton joins the Council for the first time - congratulations go to both. In addition, our thanks go to Peter Nathan and Pete Farmer who have now resigned from the Council.
1st April 'Partner's Evening - Indoor Skittles' - Another event cancelled due to lack of interest.
4th March 'Partner's Evening - Table Top Rally'. Tony Phillip's light hearted practice event was won by Rob Brook with Kevin Fowler second out of a field of eleven entrants.
4th February 'Partner's Evening - Ray & Karens New Year Quiz' Keeping up with tradition, this was been postponed.
Saturday 31st January 2008 - The Club's Annual Dinner-Dance and Presentation of Awards took place at Stockley Park Golf Club, Heathrow.
7th January 'Partner's Evening - New Year Quiz' No doubt helped by the cold weather, we continue our trend of recent months by postponing this quiz due to low numbers in attendance. I can't shout too loudly as I didn't turn up either!
