December 21st Christmas Party and Buffet:
Over 50 people attended our
customary pre-Christmas
get-together. Once again, John prepared one of his excellent buffets.
December Partner's Evening: Due to the condition of the track the stewards of the meeting decided, for safety reasons, to postpone the Scalextrix Racing competition until a later date. (071205).
November Partner's Evening: Whilst the early evening rain was enough to move John Price's BBQ into the kitchen, it stopped in good time to allow the annual fireworks celebrations to proceed as planned. Thanks go to the man with the lighter Tony Phillips and Kevin Dawson/Pete Farmer for doing the shopping.
October Partner's Evening 'Chocolate Advertising Quiz' was won by Kirstin Farmer. Thanks go to organiser Rob Brook.

September Partner's Evening: With the weather being unusually
kind, Tony Phillips organised a floodlit version of 'Boules on the Green'.
Peter Nathan was the winner with
Paul Hopkinson runner-up.
Finally, just
to show that some people still believe in dressing up to come to the Club,
here are a couple of snaps of that well known personality Gordon Phillips
sporting a whistle and flute for the evening. Gordon claimed that he
had actually gone out for a meal at mid-day and that, as it had carried on
all afternoon, he had come straight to the Club in the evening!
Pool Competition 17th August. John Gibson won this competition having defeated a number of worthy opponents. Tony Phillips was the organiser.
Centenary Fun Run and BBQ 14th August. Despite ominous signs that aqualungs would be needed, the on/off showers ceased just as the BBQ was being lit. A healthy field started the event which was won by Rob Brook/Tom Ryan with Pete/Kirstin Farmer second and Mike/Lara Cawthra third. Full results now available. Thanks go to Max for the organising the event, despite having to commute from Outer Mongolia, and Jen and Rose for manning the BBQ. Challenge of the Day was the assembly of Max's new trolley BBQ. His slow start was boosted when Andy Greenland took an interest in interpreting the destructions and things gathered pace when others, notably Tony Phillips, also got involved. Eventually the task was completed and everyone gathered to complement this fine piece of engineering achievement as it stood gleaming in the sunlight - which was about all it did all day as in the meantime all the food was cooked on the old BBQ! Final challenge was to find a way of getting it back into Max's Astra but that's another story.
August Partner's Evening: Andy Greenland organised this Treasure Hunt on foot around the grounds of Gerrards Cross Sports Club. The event, which consisted of a single night stage, was won by Pete, Kirstin and Malc Farmer. Tom Ryan's efforts were hindered by faulty electrics (no torch!) whilst Tony and Val Phillips had enough light power to track UFOs. Trigger bought up the rear after a late start and early finish! Thanks go to Andy for the organisation.
Virtual Rallysprint 13th July: Overall honours were taken by Gordon Phillips with Jon Senior and Kevin Fowler completing the podium. Thanks to Andrew Stacey who supplied the gizmos for the evenings entertainment.
July Partners Evening: Kevin and Kathleen Dawson's 'Off Road Driving'. Results to follows shortly.

Concours D'Elegance June 15th Jon Senior (Subaru) and John Upton (MGB) were the winners of this event. Thanks go to Martin Lush for the organisation.

June Partner's Evening was originally scheduled as Pete Farmer's 'Softball/Rounders' but earlier rain forced it's postponement to a later date and the evening reverted to a mix of pool and an oversized version of 'Jenga'. John Price simply reorganised his BBQ to run from the kitchen.
May Partners Evening: Boule on the Green was postponed to a later date.
April 20th was the Club's Annual General Meeting
April Partners Evening: Quiz organised by Tony Phillips.
Pool Competition 30th March: This event, organised by Tony Phillips, was won by Andy Greenwood.
March Partners Evening: Chocolate from Around The World: Thanks go to organiser Rob Brook.'
Club Night 23rd February: Rob Brook held a 'beginners' briefing for his 12 Car event on Friday March 4th.
February Partners Evening: Have You the Keys To The Quiz: This type of music quiz makes you think about your age - if you are old enough to remember the very old ones then you are probably too old to know anything about the more recent ones. Martin Lush collected the top prize on behalf of the team at the bar. Thanks go to organiser Chris Keys.
The Club's Centenary Dinner and Presentation of Awards Evening, with guest speaker Stuart Turner, took place on the evening of Saturday 29th January at the Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall and a selection of photos are on the Awards 2005 page. For the record, the Best Newcomer award went to Jon Senior, the Poxon Award to Rob Brook, the Bent Armco Award to John Gibson and the President's Award to a most deserving Christine Poxon. Congratulations go to these and all other award winners together with Kathleen Dawson and everyone involved in the organisation of the evening.
January Partners Evening:
Colin McRae Rally:
Andrew
Stacey and Rob Brooks
arrived with a proliferation of equipment from a PS2 to digital projectors and
thereafter many stage miles were undertaken with no noticeable servicing of the
vehicles whatsoever. Kevin Fowler
emerged as overall victor but perhaps the most heartening aspect of the evening
was the £200 which was collected for the Asian Tsunami appeal. With
Gift-Aid and the fact that Cadbury Schweppes will be cash-matching the
collection, the overall figure will be over £450! Thanks go to Andy and
Rob for their efforts.
