The South of England Tempest Rally

5th/6th November 2004

The South of England Tempest Rally took place on the Friday evening and throughout the day on Saturday.  Although mixed fortunes were to beset the MCAC crews, the rally was an overall success. Click on photos to enlarge. Full details can be found at the event website, www.tempestrally.com.

MCAC crews Phil Morgan/Martin Douglas (cam belt) and John Gibson/Nigel Banks (suspension) both retired leaving Polli Patti/Holly Bailey to claim Best MCAC title whilst Tom Ryan/Rob Brook and Guy Anderson/Dave Taylor also made the finish (although Guy was continuing after official retirement).  MCAC drivers Mike Evans (with James Bullock) and Simon Rees (with Dan Mayo) also finished the event.

Any information from MCAC members on the event would be appreciated. A picture of car 154 (Polly Patti/Holly Bailey) would be appreciated.

The 2005 Subaru Cup Car was on display in Service.   Safety Office Mike Hurst had an interesting day (it's worth a good long look at the enlargement of this photo!) as well as the odd cone.  Some people had a great vantage point. The Army Land Rovers (the Defender 90 pictured was piloted by Gary Mitchell/Chris Brinkman) contributed to the array of vehicles entered.
