Centenary Foto-GenIC Fun Run and BBQ 14th August 2005. Despite ominous signs that aqualungs would be needed, the on/off showers ceased just as the BBQ was being lit.  A healthy field started the event which was won by Rob Brook/Tom Ryan with Pete/Kirstin Farmer second and Mike/Lara Cawthra third.  Full results now available.  Thanks go to Max for the organising the event, despite having to commute from Outer Mongolia, and Jen and Rose for manning the BBQ.  Challenge of the Day was the assembly of Max's new trolley BBQ.  His slow start was boosted when Andy Greenland took an interest in interpreting the destructions and things gathered pace when others, notably Tony Phillips, also got involved.  Eventually the task was completed and everyone gathered to complement this fine piece of engineering achievement as it stood gleaming in the sunlight - which was about all it did all day as in the meantime all the food was cooked on the old BBQ!  Final challenge was to find a way of getting it back into Max's Astra but that's another story.

MCAC members had 100% success on the Essex Charity Stages on 4th July 2004. There were only two competitive crews from the club out of a field of 47, but they could not have done better. Guy Anderson and Dave Taylor, running as car 12, took first overall in the Mitsubishi Galant VR4. Dave Johnson and Jez Kemp, running as car 16 in a Mitsubishi Lancer were narrowly beaten into third overall, but had the consolation of getting the first in class. There was a good competitive atmosphere, and very few accidents or retirements on the fast, varied and exciting stages round the sea walls and private lanes around Bradwell-on-Sea. Both crews enjoyed the day and hope to return to the event, which took place in fine sunny conditions.  MCAC also provided a stage commander, radio and timing crews, plus two stewards.
