Congratulations to the winners and thank you to everyone for supporting the return of the Bomb-Along Stages to its spiritual home at Debden Airfield, especially the officials, marshals, radio crews and safety personnel, because without their help and assistance it just would not be possible to run the event. Thanks are also due to the staff and personnel at 33 Engineer Regiment (EOD), for allowing us the use of the venue and providing the very reasonable catering facilities.
Special thanks to Rob and Henry Hall for lending us a noise meter after our original Environmental Scrutineer was unable to attend as his wife was rushed into hospital. We wish her a speedy recovery.
As you know, we were supporting the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre for cancer support and information at Mount Vernon Hospital and, through your generosity, and that of a local resident who donated £100, we raised around £560, which, with the ‘Gift Aid’ initiative, provides almost £700 for the charity.
A marshals’ draw was held after the event and we offer our congratulations to the winners, whose cheques are on the way to them:- Bill Dewick from Enfield (£20), Jim Hitch from Welwyn Garden City, Christine Poxon from Rickmansworth, Chris Hunt from Latchington, Chelmsford (all £10) and Ann Kolter from Dewsbury (£5).
