The Bomb-Along Stages 2004
at Oakington on Sunday 12th September 2004

Winners: Dick Mauger/Andy Street - Ford RS Turbo

Despite adverse promises and a very wet and windy Saturday night, the weather held out on Sunday and, during the morning, proved sunny and warm.  Dick Mauger and Andy Street have taken overall honours in their Ford RS Turbo in what was once again, a very successful Bomb Along event.  The organiser's would like to thank everyone who took part - either as competitor, marshal or official.  MCAC would like to congratulate the winners and we look forward to seeing you at our next event.   Also, read Henry Richardson's (Car 1) post race letter.

Notes from The Organising Team.

First of all, a big thank you to everybody for entering this year’s Bomb-Along Stages. We hope that you enjoyed the event and offer our congratulations to all the award winners. Our commiserations to those that didn't finish - we hope you will try again. Also, of course, a big THANK YOU to all the officials, marshals, radio crews and safety personnel for their help and assistance on the event – without them it would not be possible.  As mentioned in the Regulations, this year the Club are again supporting the Linda Jackson Macmillan Centre at Mount Vernon Hospital and through your generosity, with the contribution of £10 per car, an additional £10 from late entries, additional donations from some crews and ‘cash match’ from Cadbury Trebor Bassett, the event raised almost £750 for this worthwhile cause. Thank you all.  This year we held a marshal’s draw and offer our congratulations to the winners;-

Simon Lock from Bexleyheath - Half-day rally tuition at Vision Motorsport

L Gerken (Stort 2) from Stevenage - Half-day rally tuition at Vision Motorsport

G D Fryer from Cambridge - Cadbury Chocolate Snaps and

Jim Read from Norwich - A5 Clipboard.
